My New Year's resolution is to paint more often. I have been studying the academic method of painting. I have three different art pieces started. I want to finish these three pieces and then paint an original in the style of my chosen artist - "Bouguereau". I love his paintings of peasant girls. They are absolutely stunning. I have an art education degree, but was not taught in the academic style. Unfortunately for me, this has not been a popular style for a very long time. Sometimes I feel like I was born in the wrong era. I once thought I could not be an artist because I was not like the others in school (abstract). Even now, some of my art friends think anything realistic is boring. I want to make myself more accountable by posting my goals, and reporting what I have done each day to work toward achieving those goals.
